I am Nabil Fakih, a professional pharmacist born and raised in Tyre, Lebanon. I immigrated to the United States of America in 1994 to pursue my college studies. I worked hard doing two jobs to make my way through college and earned admission at the competitive Wayne State University School of Pharmacy, an American public research university located in Detroit, Michigan, and the third largest university in the state of Michigan. I graduated class of 2001, earned a Rite Aid scholarship, and worked for Rite Aid for a few years after graduation. After spending few years working, I was inspired to open my own community pharmacy in my hometown in Michigan.
I have been married for 16 years and has three daughters. My wife, Mona Fakih, also works in the medical field as an obstetrician gynecologist in Dearborn, Michigan. The local pharmacy I own, Dearborn Heights Pharmacy, provides services to over 25,000 patients and fills an average of 600 prescriptions per day. Because Dearborn Heights Pharmacy has been serving the community so well, I, Nabil Fakih, was appointed to the Henry Ford Community College Board of Directors and the Board of Directors for the Arab American Civil Rights League. I also started a local anti-drug campaign “Say No To Drugs” and regularly donate to local churches, mosques, police and fire department, and community sporting events.
